Tim Raines Inducted into Museum
Tim Raines was among a number of former greats enshrined on Saturday, January 31st, into the Ted Williams Museum and Hitters Hall of Fame. In the above photo, Claudia Williams presented Tim Raines with an autographed Ted Williams Bat, as Rays Vice President of Marketing Darcy Raymond looks on. Darcy grew up in Montreal and Tim Raines was his boyhood hero. Mr. Raymond introduced Tim as part of the Ted Williams Museum Induction Class of 2015. Jim Thome, Gene “Stick” Michael and Thurman Munson were also inducted into the museum. Jim Kaat and Denny McLain were honored on the Museum’s Pitching Wall of Great Achievement, as well as Umpire Richie Garcia receiving recognition with the Excellence in Umpiring Award. The Ted Williams Museum and Hitters Hall of Fame annual induction dinner was called ‘Dinner with Alex and Friends’ and took place on the field at Tropicana Field on January 31st. The annual gala was attended by over 600 fans who took in a truly historic night of baseball greats. Joining the fans were over 30 major league players, past & present to honor the class of 2015.
