MARIANO RIVERA EXITS WITH 2 TED WILLIAMS AWARDS

The Sandman came away from his last trip to Tropicana Field with another Ted Williams Pitching Achievement Award making 2013, his final season, 2 for 2! On July 16th at Citi Park in New York Mariano was presented with the Ted Williams Award as the MVP of the 2013 All Star Game. On his final visit to Tropicana Field, he was inducted onto the Ted Williams Museum Pitching Wall of Great Achievement as the premiere closer in the game of baseball. This honor was especially fitting since it was Mariano who cut the ribbon on the Ted Williams Museum & Hitters Hall of Fame at the grand opening in 2007 at Tropicana Field. On behalf of baseball fans everywhere the Ted Williams Foundation staff thanks Mariano for his contribution to the greatest American sport. There goes Mariano Rivera, the greatest closer who ever lived!
